And then there it was, like a sign I was expecting without knowing. The bright fire, burning the skies. The desire springs from the unknown and mutates into an uncertain weirdness. Hidden beauty that I perceive, but never own. Nothing is everlasting but in our depths is. Intangible, still, changing, colorful and dark. A hole of infinity. Everything and nothing.
That cold night of spring, the sky was full of clouds. The moon was attached like trying to belong there; so reduced, a marvel between my fingers. So fragile and grayish. A magnificent collage imposing its beauty before me. I had many eyes that night; they sprang and opened widely.
Creativity [kri eɪˈtɪv ɪ ti]
- the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination.
When does creativity dare to show up and let us know that we are ready to create? I don’t have an absolute answer for that, I would say: “Just when the moment comes, let it be;” as simple as that. We might feel motivated, inspired in any moment; we just feel it kicking in and we might hold a bit or start off right away. Right now, I’m feeling motivated to write this entry and inspired by the classic music I’m discovering and this is my creative moment, a space I can share with you and or exchange ideas, feelings, etc. Now, about the definition up here, it mentions the word “transcend;” I think it’s a key to leave a mark that projects our uniqueness, our art, knowledge, wisdom or simply a small track even though we have to tear out some established patterns. I do believe we’re here to create chaos-order; destroying to create and that can be almost in any aspect of life, I dare to say. Any techniques? They’re people that can provide vast lists of things one can put into practice to develope our creativity. Three weeks ago I read this article and it was useful. It might help you.

A reminder: cross out what’s needed and write the activity that best works for you (if applies.)
“Don’t worry you have always written before and you will write now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.”

Hemingway, J. H., Hemingway, P., Hemingway, G. (1992). A Movable Feast. New York, NW:
This exquisite poem made me go back in time when I thought everything beautiful and genuine was already lived, that I could not get anything better that what I had. Pure nostalgia!

How can we be like that? Being simply oneself? It can take a lifetime and some don’t even get to that point in their lives. One of Hemingway’s quotes that makes me really think about being true is about writing; it restructured my ideas about being true with ourselves regarding knowledge, art and wisdom, specially when we share those things:
“Write about what you know and write truly…Books should be about people you know, what you love and hate, not about the people you study up about.” (p. 110.)
Not so long ago I started being more real, first with me and then with others and now I’m starting being the same way with the things I write. I admit have been a little fake to fit in in the past. It’s time to unmask things. Being the truest as you could ever be and then never stop doing it. Writing what I really know.
And what’s knowing? To me really knowing happens when knowledge becomes part of you. Writing has to be about what you’re familiar with, otherwise words would lack meaning and one would not provoke a natural reaction. This can be one way of seeing things, I find it quite interesting to be honest.
What do you think about writing? In my opinion, it’s not only about rules nor entirely about creativity. I prefer a combination, but none of them need to affect in a negative way to each other. It has to flow. I don’t like the fact that I have to be a perfectionist; on the other hand, I think it’s good to have order and in that way, others can understand you.
